Oseana is extremely well-suited for conferences and other events where a high level of quality is required. The building covers a total of 5,800 square metres with a restaurant, art museum and main auditorium with stage, catering for 1,200 to 1,300 persons. Oseana is a unique blend of art museum and cultural centre, and is located just over 30 minutes by car from Bergen or Flesland Airport. Oseana is a stunning building in beautiful surroundings.
Oseana has been named as a model project for ENOVA (an organisation formed to promote eco-friendly energy consumption and generation).
The building has the largest solar panel in Norway covering 550 m2 and fully integrated in the façade. Heat pumps using the water from the Bjørnefjord help reduce energy consumption by two thirds, from 1,125,000 kWh to 430,000 kWh per year.
Outdoors
Oseana is located directly on the waterfront, beside the public beach of Mobergsvikjo. There are plans to refurbish this outdoor recreation area with walls, diving boards and terraces. The waterfront area has also been developed with a large breakwater, providing a sheltered guest harbour with a full range of facilities for 20 boats. Oseana has a cooperation agreement with Os Sjøfront AS for access to the outdoors area. The coastal trail leading from Mobergsvikjo to Moldaneset is to be signposted and used actively in relation to the total concept designed for Oseana.
Oseana is at walking distance from the centre of Os, the bus station and taxi rank in Os.
